 The School Olimpic Games

From 29th to 30th November, 2007, the School Olympic Games were organised in John Paul II Junior High School as a part of the Socrates Comenius Project. (Europe Active and Healthy) All students participated in the venue; each class appointed 5 girls and 5 boys as a team, and the others became their fans. Before the Games began, the Junior High School students had had to choose a country to represent. They had also created an olympic class song, andmade the flag and a banner

The School Olympic Games started with a parade of school teams and their fans, during which all classes presented their olympic accessories and sang the songs. Next, the headmaster of our school declared the Games officially open. The teams competed in the following disciplines.

On the first day: athletics (high jump), football (jugglery), table tennis, handball, gymnastics.

On the second day: inter-class volleyball,

All students and teachers committed  themselves to the preparations and the Games.

Tears of happiness were mixed with tears of despair. Finally, the names of the winners became known.

The best classes in the inter-class competition :

I   Class IIId

II  Class IIIe

III Class IIb

Those two days of the School Olympic games were full of unforgettable impressions and made our students become aware of the fact that sport is not only a way of being active but, first of all, a good fun in the spirit of “fair play.”
